  1. California Unemployment Insurance
    • Unemployment Insurance (UI) is an employer paid program that provides partial income replacement when you become unemployed or have your hours reduced and meet all eligibility requirements. The link below will provide you with more information.

  2. Federal Unemployment Insurance
    • Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC)- Extends benefits for an extra 13 weeks after regular unemployment compensation benefits are exhausted.
    • Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA)- Extends benefits to self-employed, freelancers, and independent contractors.
    • Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC)- Provides a federal benefit of $600 a week.

    • OC Small Business Assistance Grants
      • In partnership with the Orange County Workforce Development Board (OCWDB), the County of Orange has launched the OCWDB COVID-19 Layoff Aversion Support Program. OCWDB received $700,000 from the California Employment Development Division (EDD) to support local small businesses impacted by COVID-19. Through the OCWDB COVID-19 Layoff Aversion Support Program, eligible businesses can receive up to $10,000 in grant funds. This funding is intended to help local small businesses mitigate layoffs and adhere to “social distancing” provisions established by state and federal public health entities. Businesses will need to submit an application on the Orange County One-Stop Centers website at oconestop.com/covid-19-layoff-aversion-program to be considered for the grant funding. Applications began being accepted on May 21, 2020, at 9 a.m. PST and the application period closes on May 28, 2020, at 5 p.m. PST or until 170 applications are received, whichever comes first.
